Bradley R. Carter, CRE, MAI, CCIM, CDEI is the Managing Director of the Specialty Valuation Group SVG Atlanta office. Mr. Carter has more than 30 years of experience with numerous property types, and has appraised properties in 48 states. A former Demonstration Report Grader, Mr. Carter authored the Appraisal Institute books “A Guide to Appraising Automobile Dealerships,” “A Guide to Appraising Automobile Dealerships, 2nd Edition,” “A Guide to Appraising Restaurants,” and the upcoming “A Guide to Appraising Religious Properties.” Mr. Carter was selected in 2016 and 2022 as the recipient of the George L. Schmutz Award, which was established in 1959 to recognize outstanding technical manuscripts and publications on real estate valuation. He also authored and also authored numerous articles in various real estate, lending and legal journals, including The Appraisal Journal and Real Estate Issues. Mr. Carter has been interviewed by The Wall Street Journal and various other publications as an expert on real estate valuation, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Mr. Carter also developed and teaches the Appraisal Institute’s course on auto dealership valuation, along with the Appraisal Institute’s soon to be released course on restaurant valuation.
